Senator Catherine Cortez Masto represents Nevada in the U.S. Senate as a member of the Democratic Party. Catherine's current Senate term began January 3, 2023 and ends January 3, 2029. Catherine Cortez Masto earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, and her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law, and served as Nevada's Attorney General for eight years before winning her Senate seat in 2016 as the first Latina ever elected to the Senate. She serves on the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee and the Finance Committee, advocating strongly for immigration reform, tribal sovereignty, and housing affordability in Nevada.
